Energy & Environmental Management System++

The Energy Marketplace is constantly changing which makes it critical for Municipalities to implement a solution that not only tracks energy performance and costs but also incorporates the unique environment and economic impact of that Municipality. Although there are many off-the-shelf software products, they do not adequately address the unique needs of Municipalities. York Region and Inovex have taken the initiative and developed an Energy & Environmental Management System++ (EEMS++). The system provides Municipalities with an “all-in-one” gateway to track & report on energy consumed in Municipal Operations. By using EEMS++, Municipalities can easily meet mandatory Municipal Energy Reporting requirements. In addition to York Region, 6 municipalities are licensed users of the EEMS++Application: Waterloo Region, Halton Region, Town of Oakville, Norfolk County, City of Brantford, and the City of Greater Sudbury.

The EEMS++ Energy & Environmental Management System is a robust, flexible, and scalable web based application built using Microsoft .NET technologies.  It can be operated either as a hosted or on-premise solution and runs on Microsoft SQL Server technology.

Strength in Numbers

Municipalities who invest in the EEMS++ energy solution will benefit from the knowledge sharing and insight of other Municipalities who work in the same industry and face similar challenges. Purchasing an EEMS++ license gives you access to a committee of licensees who meet on a regular basis to discuss and share industry best practices, strategies around EEMS++ commissioning, maintenance, and input on future upgrades to the system. Licensees believe that EEMS++ is the best option for energy management because of its industry focus and proven ability to deliver in an ever changing energy market. The EEMS++Application offers its customers the ability to achieve these critical objectives:

  • Enable future strategic growth – interface smart meter data, electronic invoice information
  • Manage organizational risk associated with finances, technology, and environmental regulations
  • Share industry best practices through the EEMS++ Knowledge Exchange forum
  • Quickly respond to regulatory changes and reporting requirements
  • Focus on internal customers energy & emission reporting needs
